This basement originally had dark wood paneling, dark brown carpet and low ceilings. To update, ceilings were raised and textured, wallpaper and paint put on walls, bookshelves with window seat and storage beneath were added. Recessed lighting now floods the room with plenty of light. A TV cabinet was made for owner's 52" television and painted the same color as the bookshelves. Carpet was replaced with maple Pergo flooring. Recessed lighting and ceiling fans were added. A once dark dungeon is now a bright and cheery "garden room". Because the window faces the underside of the deck above it, mirrors were put on each side of window to reflect more light.
